Sample Meal/Hiking Plan

Here is a sample menu plan and hiking plan for a 9 mile day. No way do I plan the hiking and eating this rigidly. But I do have a pattern of hiking for a time and then stopping to eat. Even if the weather looks bad, I'll stop to eat unless I'm getting pretty close to camp. Especially in the beginning of the day.

A lot of people don't want to eat much the first couple of days and then the food mood strikes the third or fourth day. This probably means they have been drawing on the body's reserves and becoming weaker. Then they start dragging on the third or fourth day and increase the calories.  Personally, I have to discipline myself to eat the first couple of days so this doesn't happen. We are all different and do what works for us. This is just my method.

The $5.00 goal is busted because of the Nile Spice Menu. Oh well.
